So for a site I am writing I needed an email me link on it, and I didnt want to be spamed, so I wrote a little javascript function, you might find this a helpful starting point for your own endevors:

function MakeNotSpamibleEmailAddress()
{
var part1=”jhekt”
var part2=”or”
var part3=”@”
var part4=”gmai”
var part5=”l.com”

document.write(“<a href=”+”mailto:”+part1+part2+part3+part4+part5+”>”+”Email Me”+”</a>”)
When I add CSS to my site I will use a similar function that use’s document.getElementById()

The other day, I was searching for something to watch on my tv, and I stumbled upon Maori TV (New Zealand’s TV channel for the Indigenous people of New Zealand, Largely Payed for by the NZ Government) displaying a warning message for a program, This warning message was warning that the preceding program had gay and lesbian content.

I find this really offensive, Not because I am gay, because well I’m not (I like women, alot) but because a few family members are gay and lesbian. Is It just me or is that discrimination on the part of Maori TV?

What makes it worse it that often, we hear on the news and in newspapers how some Maori’s think that they are dicriminated against.

Lets not forget, that the NZ govenment, is paying for this to occur.

Just another sign that New Zealand – as a whole is not ready to move into the 21st Century.

Sad.

Codename Bluestring (A little Web 2.0 app I am working on)

JRN

AR WorldWind

Well, my Imagine Cup team (Team Eduar) decided to pull out of the competition.

This was spurned by a number of reasons – most of them had to do with a specific team member not completing work and not showing up to meetings. While I am annoyed at this person I harbor no ill feelings towards him.

So, That attempt will probably be my last attempt at the Imagine Cup :(,

Why?

The main reason Is that most/all of my CHCH friends just don’t share the same passion that I do about programming(no offense intended), and without all members of a team being fully motivated about a project – then 9 times out of ten, it will fail.

don’t get me wrong, my friends are cool people and I’m sure that they will become awesome at whatever they put their minds to, its just that they are not there at the moment, and thats ok.

PS: If any future teams(prefably from NZ) would like some advise from somebody who has been through what they are going through – send me an email (it’s on the side of this blog)

I have started work on version .80 of JRN – this is a complete overhaul of the complete codebase and a complete redesign.

I am not gonna make any promises or claims as to when it will be out – namly because I have got a few other projects on the go (as you all know)
